New patients

We welcome new patients who live within our practice areas.  As it often takes some time for records to be forwarded from your former practice all newly registered patients will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and are offered a consultation with the pharmacist or doctor.   There is a health questionnaire 18+ and Children under 18 to complete along with a GMS1 form.

Medical treatment is available from the point at which we receive your medical records and one of our team has registered you onto our systems. We are experiencing a huge influx of patients and therefore this is a backlog with our registrations. You will need to continue obtaining medical treatment from your current GP surgery until you are fully registered with Dunster and Porlock surgeries.

EXTENSION FOR THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE PATIENT LIST FOR NEW PATIENT REGISTRATIONS AT DUNSTER & PORLOCK SURGERIES.

Our priority is to ensure that patients most in need of care can continue to access the support they need at our practice. In order to continue to provide our existing patients with the best possible care we have applied for and been granted an extension to our temporary list closure to run until 4th September 2025.

This means during this time we will only be accepting new registrations from:

  1. Immediate household family members of patients already registered at the surgery; or
  2. New patients to the area where either Dunster or Porlock Surgery is their nearest surgery, and they do not already have a local GP; or
  3. Any patients permanently living in an area where there is no other GP practice available to register at.

If anyone has any feedback on the extended list closure to address this to the Practice Manager at:

Temporary Patients

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice and complete the form below.   You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
