Clinics and Services
Well Baby/Development Checks
Our Health Visitor provides these clinics, together with child immunisations. Immunisations are carried out usually on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, and appointments are sent from the Health Authority.
A full service is provided jointly by the doctor and the attached midwife.
Contraceptive and sexual health advice
Contraceptive and sexual health advice is provided within the normal surgery consultations.
https://swishservices.co.uk/ is a comprehensive website with local clinics and contraceptive services detailed.
An invitation to attend for a smear test will be sent to all women aged 25 – 65 who have not had a hysterectomy. This test is normally carried out by one of the Practice Nurses.
General nursing clinics
Our Practice Nurses provide this service, including travel vaccinations. They also provide clinics for those with asthma, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and hyperthyroidism. These checks are carried out on a six monthly or annual basis.
We are changing our system of recall for monitoring long term conditions and the clinics mentioned above- please be aware that we are moving over to a system of birthday month reviews- you will be attending the surgery for a holistic review of your long term conditions during your birthday month- you will no longer receive a recall letter inviting you. Please speak to a nurse or receptionist for further information.
